Well, this term seems to pop up all over the internet and considering we are a site based on hair coloring......we just had to include it! So many complaints of bleached hair turned orange it's almost laughable. But not so humorous if this complaint has actually happened to you.
The subject of bleached hair turned orange tends to turn up when women decide that blondes really do have more fun! Out of these women I would hazard a guess that about 70% of them have seen their bleached hair turned orange.
OK let me put it to you straight here so there are no crossed wires. Most of the boxed blonde hair dyes on sale in stores are not really designed for people with dark or deep brownish hair. They are really more targeted towards the lighter people in the world.
If you are the darker kind you will struggle to find a dye to do a - it will turn orange! decent job on your hair
So, bleached hair turned orange......what can you do about it if it occurs? Well I'll let you into a secret that one of my friends let me into ( she just happens to be a quality stylist! ). She seems to think that a lot of these 'middle of the road' blonde boxed dyes make her a hell of a lot of money due to the repairs she has to carry out in her salon. She says she has many customers who's bleached hair turned orange, turn up on a monthly basis.
She told me that your first option is to bleach your way past the orange type haze. This does work in a majority of circumstances but keep in mind the damage you could be doing to the hair itself.
I'm not really a fan of this first solution she offered me so I asked for an alternative...she obliged! The second option is to have a apply a blue or violet-based toner to the hair. Now this is a sort of 'cancel out the problem' situation. It's all based on the color wheel - blue and violet are complete opposites to the orange side of the color wheel. professional stylist
And the moral of the story here? Well if you're on this page you probably already know it ( sitting there with your head in your hands! ). If the 'bleached hair turned orange' situation is really bad I would always suggest popping on a hat and turning up at a professional stylist's to correct the mess. After all you don't want to make this worse do you?
