Train Your Hair
Young girls in their teens often find thick hair problems very overpowering. This is mainly down to the fact that they have not really trained their hair at this point. If it ever gets to much for you then try and remove the tangles from your hair before stepping into the shower/bath.
The simplest way to do this is to apply a decent conditioner to your hair when it is dry and then slowly pull a comb through it. Then you're going to want to wash your hair from front to back and side to side. When you are washing your hair try not to scrunch it up into one washable ball ( if you know what I mean! ). Don't mold it into a lump as you wash it as this will only bring new tangles onto the scene.
So once your hair is suitably washed/cleaned apply a and leave it in your hair for at least half an hour. Wash the conditioner out and very carefully towel dry your hair bit by bit. Sulfates......Not For Me!
A lot of thick hair problems revolve around the fact that certain hair products are not at all suitable for use due to the elements they contain. Always try to avoid the hair products the contain Sulfates as these tend to dry the hair out at times.
A lot of these heavier conditioners are containing Sulfates these days so make sure the one you use avoids this.
Hair Straightening May Make Matters Worse
When I was younger a lot of the thick hair problems I encountered were due to my own lack of knowledge. I'm afraid over-using hair straighteners played a big part in my downfall. I thought that by straightening my hair I was going to make the whole styling process a lot easier for myself......I was wrong!
Hair straighteners tend to make the thick hair problems worse as they often manage to damage the hair and dry it out. I'm not saying to avoid straightening your hair I'm just advising on cutting down the length of time you use the straightener.
Split Ends And Fly Away's

As well as this you may want to consider taking on the fly away's people with thick hair normally suffer from. These are the crazy strands of hair that seem to stick out on the top of your head for no apparent reason.
